In 1996, the government created a law in which all landlords who rent part, or all of a property, have to have all gas appliances and pipes checked every 12 months with a certificate to prove it.

What does an Inspection include?
A registered engineer will check the following:
- Check appliance for gas leaks
- Check pressure of both standing and working
- Check stats against manufacturer’s data
- Check for satisfactory, necessary ventilation
- Test flue flow
- Check operation of all the flame failure devices
- Check for physical stability, presence, and effectiveness of stability brackets
- Investigate any evidence of unsafe operation and report to a responsible person
